You & I could swap a library full of these kinds of stories.

In this regard - we have started to simply decline to participate in RFP's that don't ask the right questions and have been pleasantly surprised to find out that 3 of the 4 we recently declined, came back, asked us what to include and then amended the RFP. On principle we have also pushed back hard on completely unrealistic deadlines, again with great success.
